The 2013-2014 LMU-DCOM SAA Executive Board had the pleasure of sending two board members to the AAOA House of Delegates this year. Amber Steff, our 1st Vice President, and Victoria Oumeddour, our President, joined Shelley Weiting, our faculty Advisor in Las Vegas for the week! While there they were able to gain knowledge and ideas of how to more effectively run our local chapter of the SAA. They were also able to hear back about the funding for our special project requests!
Waaay back in July, our President, Victoria, petitioned to receive funding for our current special project that we are working on to further advocate for the Osteopathic Profession. Last year's board ordered business cards for the students and advocates to pass out to whomever we crossed paths with to help further educate about what it is that Osteopathic doctors are and do. We wanted additional funding this year, to also supply the students with fancy card holders to carry these cards in. We were 1 of 2 clubs that received the full requested funding amount! Big Thanks to Victoria for following that paper trail, and to Amber for helping represent us so well in a random elevator in Vegas with our fancy cards!!! You ladies are awesome!!!
